Lego Mania
During the summer holidays we had a family trip to Rheged to see their Lego City: Lego Architecture exhibition and we weren’t disappointed, it was fantastic!
Rheged are great at putting on exhibitions that appeal to children. They always have a lot of interactive elements and this was no exception. There were areas for making cars (complete with a large ramp testing area and F1 grandstand), films showing how the big exhibition pieces were built, where’s wally style activities using Lego characters and a Lego grafitti wall.
The exhibition was centred around a number of amazing Lego replicas of some of the world’s most iconic buildings built by Lego Artist Warren Elsmore.
Even the small matter of Lego Spiderman having been stolen was handled with humour, Signs anouncing that Spiderman had been kidnapped were posted around the room.
The Royal family made an appearance on the balcony for the Royal wedding.
Not great photographs as a few of the pieces were behind perspex (although not the massive ones which was great to see) and it was also very, very busy with lots of little people to try and avoid when taking shots. But, it gives you idea and if you love Lego like us I’d keep an eye out for these events!
