Japanese fan necklace

I visited some gardens over the summer, and I loved the Japanese garden in one of them with it's big fan shaped leaves, this is my nod to that...

These one-off wooden necklaces are hand painted using a combination of paint and art pens. I carefully decorate the beads to create mini, wearable artworks that are great for adding a pop of colour or pattern to your outfit.

Once decorated, the beads are spray varnished for protection before being strung onto waxed cotton cord. The cord length when fully extended is approximately 16" but the length of the necklace can be adjusted to suit your outfit using the sliding knots.

For those like me who don't like heavy things around their neck area, these necklaces are very lightweight as well!

NOTE: I don't recommend these necklaces for children as they don't have a fast release mechanism, and although they are decorated using led free paint and varnish they are not suitable as teething necklaces.
